It’s time again for an update and lessons learned from an event and this one is a super positive one for sure.
This was a first time event for the Odd & Feral Market (put on by Omniferal and Blockrosekc) and i am super glad i was told about it and gave it a chance. With a bent towards the macabre and spooky kids in general it had a plethora of other vendors there as well which really filled out the flea market vibe. So while i could gush over the good time i had or how successful I was that is not why we are here.
What did we learn:
- If you are new its always a risk to pay a fee and go to a small market.
- Do it at least once. You will learn if that market will help you in the future and if nothing else maybe make some new contacts for your mailing list.
- Treat small events (especially 1 da events) like you would a convention. Stay at your table and engage everyone you can. If you have a good set up you will at least intrigue people into hearing your pitch and they may know somebody who will be interested even if they are not.
- This will never just be sales, its about marketing not just your product, but also yourself and building your contacts. Use it for that.
Thank you for coming to my probably obvious Ted talk 😀
